RCM Technologies Inc. Announces Financial Results

RCM Technologies Inc. on Nov. 7 announced financial results for the 13- and 39-week periods ended Sept. 29, 2012. The company announced revenues of $34.8 million for the 13-week period ended Sept. 29, 2012, increased from $33.6 million for the comparable prior-year period. RCM Technologies had operating income of $1.1 million for the 13-week period ended Sept. 29 as compared with $0.7 million for the comparable prior-year period. Net income for the 13-week period ended Sept. 29 was $0.6 million as compared with net income of $0.7 million for the comparable prior-year period.

The company announced revenues of $108.8 million for both 39-week periods ended Sept. 29, 2012, and the comparable prior-year period. RCM Technologies had operating income of $3.9 million for the 39-week period ended Sept. 29 as compared with $4.8 million for the comparable prior-year period. Net income for the 39-week period ended Sept. 29 was $2.2 million as compared with net income of $3.1 million for the comparable prior-year period.

U.S. Jobless Claims Fall as Storm Starts to Affect Data

Applications for unemployment insurance declined by 8,000 to 355,000 last week, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. One state reported that filings were suppressed by electrical outages caused by Hurricane Sandy, while other states said employees who lost their jobs due to the weather were beginning to apply for jobless benefits. A DOL spokesperson said it may take three to four weeks to see the full effect of the storm, and claims may rebound as storm-related applications are processed.
