Express Employment Professionals Surpasses $2.3 Billion in 2012

Express Employment Professionals has announced that temporary staffing sales by franchisees totaled more than $2.3 billion in 2012, up 10% from a record $2.1 billion in 2011. Since 2009, Express franchisees’ temporary staffing sales have increased 101% as staffing companies have become a significant driver of the nation’s job growth. Express anticipates growth of 10% in 2013 based on continued strong demand for temporary workers, a view supported by industry experts.

Fed’s Yellen Supports Stimulus to Spur Jobs

Janet Yellen, vice chairwoman of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s board of governors, said in a speech Monday that the large gap between the difficult conditions faced by workers and the maximum level of employment possible is a key factor pushing the Fed’s moves to increase economic growth. Although down from the 10% unemployment rate seen during the recession, the current unemployment rate is higher than at any point in more than two decades before the recent recession, Yellen said.
