Adecco Group News Release (05/07/15)

The Adecco Group reported revenue of €5.1 billion for the first quarter of 2015, up 9% (4% in constant currency) from €4.7 billion in the first quarter of 2014. Net income totaled €160 million, up 45% from €110 million in the year-ago quarter.

North American revenues totaled €1.1 billion, up 23% (5% in constant currency) from €874 million in the 2014 first quarter. General staffing revenue totaled €3.7 billion, up 8% (5% in constant currency) from €3.4 billion, and professional staffing revenue totaled €1.2 billion, up 10% (down 1% in constant currency) from €1.1 billion.

AMN Healthcare Services News Release (05/06/15)

AMN Healthcare Services Inc. reported revenue of $328 million for the first quarter of 2015, up 36% from $241 million in the first quarter of 2014. Net income totaled $12.2 million, up 61% from $7.6 million in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue was $229 million for the nurse and allied health care staffing segment, up 40% from $163 million; $87 million for the locum tenens staffing segment, up 30% from $67 million; and $12 million for the physician permanent placement services segment, up 11% from $11 million.

Cross Country Healthcare Inc. News Release (05/06/15)

Cross Country Healthcare Inc. reported revenue of $186 million for the first quarter of 2015, up 57% from $118 million in the first quarter of 2014. Net income totaled $2.9 million, compared with a net loss of $0.8 million in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue totaled $149.1 million for its nurse and allied staffing segment, up 85% from $80.7 million, and $27.3 million for its physician staffing segment, down 4% from $28.6 million.

Adecco Group News Release (05/07/15)

Adecco Group has announced that chief executive officer Patrick De Maeseneire has decided to leave the Adecco Group and will hand over his duties at the end of August. The board of directors has appointed Alain Dehaze as the new CEO as of Sept. 1. Dehaze currently is the regional head of France and has been a member of the executive committee since 2009.

Tennessee-based American Physician Partners recently acquired emergency room staffing firms Align MD and Elite Management Services for $24 million. The two acquired companies will be independent subsidiaries for now, though Elite’s emergency department services will eventually be rolled into Align MD. Align MD will run the emergency department services and American Physician Partners will manage operations.

Bloomberg (05/07/15)

The number of people applying for unemployment benefits in the week ended May 2 increased by 3,000 to 265,000, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The 47 economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast claims of 278,000. The four-week moving average of new claims fell to 279,500, the least since May 2000.
