Online Registration for Staffing World^® Ends Today

It’s almost time for the most important industry event for staffing professionals—Staffing World 2015. The ASA annual convention and expo starts Tuesday, Oct. 27, and continues through Oct. 29 in Nashville, TN. Online registration ends today at 5 p.m. Eastern time.

Keep up with what’s going on while you’re at the convention—download the free Staffing World 2015 mobile app, which lets you access session descriptions, speaker bios, and much more. It’s available in the App Store, for the iPhone and iPad, and in the Android Market—search for “Staffing World 2015.”

Today is the last day to register online at staffingworld.net. On-site registration opens Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8 a.m. in the Ryman Exhibit Hall Foyer at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Kansas City Fed: Manufacturing Activity Stabilizes in October

Manufacturing activity in the Plains states steadied somewhat in October following September’s more negative reading, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and expectations for future activity were largely flat.

The month-to-month composite index was -1 in October, up from -8 in September. The majority of other month-to-month indexes edged higher but still remained sluggish. The production index increased from 1 to 4, and the shipments, employment, and order backlog indexes also improved somewhat but stayed negative. The new orders index jumped from -8 to 7, its highest level in 10 months.
