Registration Now Open for the 2024 Staffing Law & Compliance Conference

The ASA Staffing Law Conference is now called the Staffing Law & Compliance Conference. Why? Because the sessions are important for staffing firm owners and executives as well as compliance managers, human resource professionals, recruiters, and attorneys. ASA general counsel Brittany Sakata, Esq., explains the reasoning in the latest ASA Legal Line video for members.

See which important topics are on the docket at this year’s ASA Staffing Law & Compliance Conference, May 16–17 in Washington, DC. Session descriptions have just been posted online, and registration is open—go to americanstaffing.net to register at the lowest rate available. ASA members receive additional discounts.

The ASA Legal Line monthly video series is sponsored by Essential StaffCARE, an ASA corporate partner.

Help Clients Understand Their Obligations With the Updated Joint Employment Tool Kit

Are your clients confused about the various laws and rules pertaining to joint employment in third-party staffing arrangements—especially in light of the U.S. Department of Labor’s recent rescission of the Trump-era joint employer legal test? To assist members in addressing client’s questions and concerns regarding joint employment, ASA has updated the ASA Joint Employment Tool Kit.

The tool kit offers a collection of resources to help staffing companies address client concerns about co-employment (the relationship between a staffing firm and its client in which each has legal rights and duties with respect to the same employees), including updated fact sheets, issue papers, and sample letters to clients that dispel myths regarding joint employment and explain how working with a staffing agency can actually protect clients from liability. It’s free to ASA members.
