U.S. companies are curbing plans to hire new employees, and an increasing number of companies feel the European debt crisis is negatively affecting their sales, according to a survey by the National Association for Business Economics. Just 23% of the companies surveyed intend to hire additional staff in the next six months. NABE’s prior survey, conducted in March and April, indicated that 39% of companies planned to hire new employees.
