An analysis conducted by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department recently found that 30 states added construction jobs over the past month, though not enough to offset the decline in construction employment that took place between September 2011 and September 2012. “Even though a good number of states added jobs in September, most states have a smaller construction work force than they did a year ago,” says Ken Simonson, the association’s chief economist.
