The nation’s economy continued to improve at the end of last year, according to the Federal Reserve Board’s latest report on regional economies (known as the “beige book”). Reports from the 12 Federal Reserve districts characterized economic growth as either “modest” or “moderate,” indicating that the economic activity expanded from mid-November through December of 2012. Trends in wages, prices, and employment conditions were relatively unchanged.
