In anticipation of a busy spring season as the housing rebound picks up steam, Home Depot says it will hire more than 80,000 temporary workers, up 14% from last year. Some of these seasonal workers will be offered full-time employment, as the home-improvement retailer gave permanent jobs to over 50% of its 70,000 temporary employees in 2012. Meanwhile, Lowe’s Cos. plans to hire 45,000 part-time seasonal workers, up 13% from last year.
