AMN Healthcare Announces Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2012 Results

AMN Healthcare Services News Release (02/21/13)

AMN Healthcare Services Inc. reported consolidated revenues of $248 million for the fourth quarter of 2012, up 12% from the fourth quarter of 2011. Revenues rose 18% during that period to $175 million for the nurse and allied health care staffing segment and 8% to $10 million for the physician permanent placement services segment, but dropped 3% to $63 million for the locum tenens staffing segment. For all of 2012, consolidated revenues totaled $954 million, up 7% from 2011. Full-year revenues climbed 15% to $654 million for the nurse and allied health care staffing segment—with a 22% gain in the travel nurse business—held steady at $39 million for the physician permanent placement services segment, and declined 6% to $261 million for the locum tenens staffing segment.

“We’re excited about the positive outlook for 2013 and future years,” says Susan Salka, president and chief executive officer of AMN Healthcare. “The longer-term trends filling demand for our services include the growing adoption of work force solutions, the increased demand for health care from the aging population, and the addition of 30 million insured citizens and the worsening clinical labor shortage as clinicians and physicians retire.”
