Monster.com and Military.com Join Launch of Largest Public Service Campaign in Clear Channel History

Monster Worldwide Inc. News Release (06/07/13)

ASA corporate partner Monster.com and Military.com have joined with Clear Channel to take part in iHeartRadio’s Show Your Stripes initiative to raise awareness of veteran unemployment and encourage businesses to hire veterans. Monster and Military will provide veterans access to 70,000 military friendly jobs and will offer businesses a forum for posting jobs with veteran-specific skills. The 2012 Monster Veterans Talent Index showed that only 43% of respondents felt they were prepared to transition from the military, and only 22% believed they would find work that suited them.

Searching for veteran talent and understanding how military experience and training fits certain role requirements has proven difficult for employers. To combat this, Monster and Military have introduced a military skills translator that converts military specializations into civilian occupations, shows career paths similarly skilled veterans have taken, and provides networking opportunities.
