Michael Page International—Q2 and First Half 2013 Update

Michael Page International reported gross profits of £135.2 million in the second quarter of 2013, down 2% from £138 million during the same period in 2012. Gross profits rose 4% from £28.8 million to £30 million for temporary recruitment but decreased 4% from £109.2 million to £105.2 million for permanent recruitment over the same time span. Its gross profits for the Americas were £20.7 million in the second quarter, up 11% from £18.7 million the prior year.

The company reported gross profits of £262 million for the first half of 2013, compared with £273.9 million in the first half of 2012. Gross profits jumped slightly from £58.2 million to £58.9 million for temporary recruitment but fell from £215.7 million to £203.1 million for permanent recruitment. Its gross profits for the Americas totaled £39.1 million for the first half of 2013, up from £37.4 million in the first half of 2012.
