More Americans filed for unemployment claims last week than was forecasted. Jobless claims dropped by 12,000 to 350,000 in the week ended Oct. 19, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had predicted a drop to 340,000. The less volatile four-week moving average of claims increased to 348,250 from 337,500.
