Consumer spending rose in November by the most in five months, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce. Household purchases, which account for nearly 70% of the economy, rose 0.5%, after rising 0.4% in October. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had predicted a rise of 0.5%. Incomes climbed less than forecast. Consumer spending rose 2.0% in the third quarter of 2013.
