Automatic Data Processing’s February National Employment Report estimates that 139,000 American workers were hired for private-sector payrolls in February. Economists had forecast 155,000. Meanwhile, ADP’s estimate of January payroll gains was revised down to 127,000 from 175,000.
Goods-producing employment in February rose by 19,000 jobs, up from a downwardly revised 12,000 in January, and service-providing industries added 120,000 jobs, up from a downwardly revised 116,000.
