American Staffing Association (10/16/14) Cynthia Poole
Economic growth continued around the U.S. in September and early October, according to the Federal Reserve Board’s latest report on regional economies (known as the “beige book”). All 12 districts reported modest to moderate growth at a pace similar to that noted in the previous six-week reporting period. Consumer spending grew slightly to moderately and manufacturing activity increased in most districts. Employment continued to expand, although most districts reported that some employers had difficulty finding qualified workers for certain positions. Staffing services increased in many districts, including New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Richmond, Chicago, and Dallas.
