The Conference Board Employment Trends Index increased in July for a second consecutive month. The index now stands at 127.89, up from 127.57 in June. The change represents a 4.4% gain in the ETI compared with a year ago.
“The growth in the [ETI] slowed down in the past 3-6 months, suggesting that we may see somewhat slower job growth in the months ahead,” says Gad Levanon, managing director of macroeconomic and labor market research at the Conference Board. “Still, with almost no expansion of the labor force, a slowing of employment growth to 150,000-200,000 jobs a month would be enough to rapidly tighten the labor market.”

ASA recently introduced its Approved Continuing Education Provider program, which validates educational programs that provide continuing education hours toward ASA certification renewal.
Under the ACEP program, ASA reviews content from companies that provide educational material related to staffing and recruiting. If their material is approved, companies may display the ACEP seal on their educational offerings, indicating that they meet ASA standards for quality and content. The ACEP seal distinguishes industry trainers, suppliers, and staffing companies that have been approved to award CE credits toward maintaining ASA credentials.
