PageGroup News Release (01/12/16)

PageGroup reported gross profits of £135.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2015, down 0.5% (up 5.3% in constant currency) from £136.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2014. Gross profits in the Americas totaled £18.8 million, down 4.1% (up 5.4% in constant currency) from £19.6 million in the year-ago quarter.

For all of 2015, gross profits totaled £555.9 million, up 4.3% (9.2% in constant currency) from £532.8 million in 2014. In the Americas, full-year gross profits totaled £78.4 million, up 1.9% (7.3% in constant currency) from £76.9 million in 2014. Net cash totaled £93 million at the end of 2015, up from £90 million at the end of 2014.

SR Group News Release (01/11/16)

The SR Group has acquired New York-based Maximum Management Corp., a boutique human resource recruitment company based in New York. The acquisition gives the SR Group its first office in the U.S.

NFIB Small-Business News (01/12/16)

The National Federation of Independent Business Index of Small Business Optimism rose 0.4 points in December, increasing to 95.2. The index is stuck in a “below average” rut, characterizing the performance of the small business sector. Historically accounting for about half of private gross domestic product, below average growth for small businesses has not been offset by strong growth in large firms. Combined, they are producing 2.5% growth overall. With the manufacturing sector in decline, large firms aren’t likely to add as much to growth in 2016.
