Time Is Running Out to Participate in the ASA Quarterly Staffing Employment and Sales Survey

There’s still time to get free staffing employment, sales, and gross margin benchmarks and projections—the association’s quarterly Staffing Employment and Sales Survey for the fourth quarter of 2019 closes next Friday, Feb. 21. Staffing companies that complete the brief survey—including search and placement firms—will have access to an exclusive report on the results, enhanced with graphs.

Register to take the survey, or view the questionnaire, at americanstaffing.net/quarterly-survey. There are no fees to participate.

Attract Top Talent—Promote Staffing as a Career

To help its members solve their internal talent shortage, ASA has developed an online directory of companies that want to connect with potential candidates for internal corporate jobs or university career center professionals. Get your company’s opportunities listed—complete the form at americanstaffing.net.

The listing will appear on the staffingasacareer.net website, which introduces candidates to the staffing and recruiting industry.

The association also offers resources to help you introduce candidates to the staffing and recruiting industry. Visit the Promoting the Profession page for recruiting strategies, tips for developing an internship program at your firm, a video you can embed on your website, and more.

ASA Publishes Issue Paper on California Consumer Privacy Act

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 applies to certain companies doing business in California that collect personal information from or about California residents. The CCPA affords these consumers the right to know about, access, delete, and opt-out of the sharing or selling of their personal information. California Assembly Bill 25 provides that until Jan. 1, 2021, many of the CCPA’s requirements will not apply to certain personal information collected about job applicants and employees, so long as that information is used solely within that person’s role or former role with respect to the business.

Because the CCPA imposes certain obligations on entities that act as a “business” or “service provider,” as those terms are defined in the law, ASA has published an issue paper, by Shannon K. Yavorsky, Esq., and Judy Kim, Esq., of Venable LLP, that addresses the extent to which staffing firms may act as covered businesses or service providers when providing staffing services; direct hire/search services; recruitment processing outsourcing (RPO) services; managed service provider (MSP) services; and outplacement services. Visit americanstaffing.net to read the issue paper.
