Free ASA Webinar Next Week—Staffing Stats

Every year, ASA produces an economic analysis of the staffing industry, published as a special issue of Staffing Success magazine, which discusses how to interpret recent economic trends affecting the U.S. staffing industry—and how to utilize staffing and economic data to make smart decisions and projections for your business.

ASA chief economist Noah Yosif and ASA assistant director of research Tim Hulley will provide an introduction to concepts from the Staffing Industry Playbook, which will be published later this fall, during the ASA webinar “Staffing STATS—Quarterly Data-Centric Webinar: The 2024 Staffing Industry Playbook.” It takes place Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2–3 p.m. Eastern time.

All ASA webinars are free for ASA members, and most qualify for continuing education hours toward ASA certification renewal. To learn more and to register, visit americanstaffing.net.

New ASA Legal Line Video for Members: Managing Risks in MSP and VMS Arrangements

Staffing agencies that participate in managed service provider (MSP) and vendor management system (VMS) arrangements may need to protect themselves against financial risks in those relationships.

The ASA Legal Line monthly video series features a member of the association’s legal team and addresses critical legal, regulatory, and legislative topics that have direct implications for your business. In the latest installment, ASA general counsel Brittany Sakata, Esq., offers warning signs for staffing firms to watch for and discusses the updated issue paper that ASA has published to help members navigate the use of MSPs and VMSs in the staffing marketplace.

MSPs and many other important topics critical to your staffing business will be covered in sessions at Staffing World®, the ASA annual convention and expo, Oct. 22–24 in Nashville, TN. Visit staffingworld.net for more information.

ASA Offers Resources on Diverse-Owned Businesses

Staffing companies—particularly small businesses and minority-, veteran-, LGBT-, and woman-owned businesses—find they may be able to partner with larger companies that have supplier diversity initiatives in place.

The ASA inclusion, diversity, and equity advocacy (IDEA) group has developed guidance for ASA members interested in partnering with those companies or in becoming a diverse-owned certified business.

Visit americanstaffing.net/diversity for a directory of diversity certification organizations, a glossary of common terms, and more. The ASA IDEA group is sponsored by ASA corporate partners ClearlyRated and Monster.
