The association’s quarterly Staffing Employment and Sales Survey for the first quarter of 2023 will close next Friday, May 19. Staffing companies that complete the brief survey—including search and placement firms—will have access to an exclusive report on the results, enhanced with graphs. The report, which participants can download from the ASA website, also includes an executive summary, plus sales category and sector-level data. There are no fees to participate.

The ASA Women in Leadership Scholarship Program aims to raise the visibility of women in the staffing industry as well as provide scholarships that cover registration fees for Staffing World^®, the ASA annual convention and expo (Oct. 3–5 in Charlotte, NC), as well as the THRIVE: Women in Leadership preconvention program (Oct. 2–3 in Charlotte).

ASA has published a new issue paper by noted industry benefits counsel Alden Bianchi on the most recent wave of employee health plans being offered to staffing firms that promise substantial employer tax savings. The paper “Buyer Beware: The Newest Wave of Hospital/Fixed Indemnity Programs Promising Payroll Tax Savings” explains the applicable rules and discusses why these plans could expose employers to significant liability risks under federal tax and other laws.
