Don’t Miss This Month’s ASA State Network Event for Texas Staffing Firms

ASA State Network events are designed to deliver targeted content and local networking opportunities for the staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry at regional and state levels. Regional and local events, organized by ASA and its volunteers at the state level, deliver rich learning and networking experiences throughout the U.S. all year long.

This month, staffing professionals in Texas can attend a free virtual Safety Training and Discussion Thursday, Feb. 17, from 9 to 10 a.m. Central time. Hear about temporary worker safety and other related issues from representatives from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Fort Worth-area office and members of the ASA safety committee.

ASA-certified professionals can earn continuing education hours toward maintaining their ASA credential. Visit americanstaffing.net to learn more and to register for an event near you.

Network in Your Niche—Virtually

As your staffing firm faces new challenges and tries to answer unexpected questions, are you dealing with questions that are specific to your sector of the staffing industry? Get insight from industry peers during a sector-specific peer networking call where you can discuss top-of-mind challenges and devise solutions. Calls are facilitated by volunteers from ASA section communities (participants will not receive official legal updates or guidance regarding Covid-19).

Get the full schedule and register at americanstaffing.net:

  • Office–administrative section: Monday, Feb. 22, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time
  • Search and placement section: Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time
  • Engineering, IT, and scientific section: Thursday, Feb. 24, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time
  • Industrial section: Tuesday, March 22, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time
  • Professional–managerial section: Wednesday, March 23, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time
  • Health care section: Thursday, March 24, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time

Free Networking Event Next Week—Broaden Your Cross-Cultural Understanding

Diversity in race and perspectives can add value to the workplace, but it can be uncomfortable to open up discussions on sensitive topics. Get insights on how to build better cross-cultural understanding during the virtual networking event “Coffee With a Black Guy,” presented by the ASA inclusion, diversity, and equity advocacy (IDEA) group. It takes place Tuesday, Feb. 8, 3–4 p.m. Eastern time.

The Coffee With a Black Guy session was so popular at Staffing World® 2021 that CWABG founder James Joyce III has agreed to return for another discussion with staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry leaders. The ASA IDEA group is sponsored by ASA corporate partner Monster and by Anthem, along with supporting sponsors TerraFirma and WorkN.

This networking event is free for ASA members and most qualifies for continuing education hours toward ASA certification renewal. To learn more and to register, visit americanstaffing.net.
