Free ASA Webinar Today—Understanding Technical Candidates

Don’t miss the ASA webinar “Think Like a Developer Tech Series, Part I: The Software Development Life Cycle.” It takes place today from 3 to 4 p.m. Eastern time.

Recruiting for technical candidates is a challenge for many recruiters who don’t speak their language—but learning about the foundations of software development will help you communicate better with talent so you can hold credible—and even fun—technical interviews. This is the first webinar in a series meant to help technical recruiters relate to candidates.

Pledge to Return to Work Safely

As part of a global endeavor to help employees return safely to work amid the pandemic, ASA launched the Safely Back to Work initiative. The initiative and americanstaffing.net/safelybacktowork website are based on the association’s work with the World Employment Confederation, Adecco Group, ManpowerGroup, and Randstad NV.

Take advantage of safety-focused resources, and take the Safely Back to Work Pledge to show your company’s commitment to the health and welfare of your corporate and temporary and contract employees.

Once you submit your pledge, your name and company name will appear in a real-time leaderboard on the page. Share your commitment on social media channels and encourage your colleagues to do the same.

ASA Staffing Index Offers Up-to-Date View of Staffing Employment

Looking for real-time data on staffing employment? The ASA Staffing Index reports weekly changes in the number of people employed in temporary and contract work. The data will help your firm evaluate its performance against a national metric on both a weekly and long-term basis.

All staffing firms with U.S. operations are invited to participate in the ASA Staffing Index survey. Every Tuesday, participants receive an email with the results of the weekly survey, including figures by company size, and access to historical data and new dynamic charts. These data, which are not available anywhere else, allow staffing firms to compare how their business is doing on a weekly basis relative to similarly sized firms in the industry. There are no fees to participate in the five-question survey.

Don’t get stuck with outdated or unreliable data—sign up to participate in the ASA Staffing Index and receive the most up-to-date information about the staffing industry. For more information about the index, visit americanstaffing.net/staffing-index.

Resources on Diverse-Owned Businesses Available for ASA Members

Staffing companies—particularly small businesses and minority-, veteran-, LGBT-, and woman-owned businesses—find they may be able to partner with larger companies that have supplier diversity initiatives in place.

The ASA inclusion, diversity, equity, and advocacy (IDEA) group has developed guidance for ASA members interested in partnering with those companies or in becoming a diverse-owned certified business.

Visit americanstaffing.net/diversity for a directory of diversity certification organizations, a glossary of common terms, and more.
