Court Blocks Trump Effort to Remove Venezuelans’ Protected Immigration Status
A federal district judge in California has issued a nationwide injunction barring the Trump administration from removing the special “temporary protected status” granted by the Biden administration to hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans that allows them to legally work in the U.S. Temporary protected status is granted to immigrants facing a humanitarian crisis, war, or natural disaster in their home country. The court ruling protects their special status until the case can be fully adjudicated on the merits.
