Last week, a Nevada court reinstated a 2021 state law aimed at barring contractors from using staffing firms to supply skilled construction workers in the state. The court had previously enjoined enforcement of the law, at the urging of the American Staffing Association, but lifted the injunction allowing the law to go into effect. The ruling could cost the jobs of thousands of temporary construction workers in the state. ASA and its members doing business in Nevada are considering options that would allow staffing firms to continue supplying such workers.
