Kforce Inc. reported revenues of $265.6 million for the first quarter of 2013, down 1.6% from $269.8 million during the fourth quarter of 2012 and 1% from $268.4 million during the year-ago period. The company’s net income was $3.1 million, down from $8.6 million during the fourth quarter of 2012 and $4.1 million during the first quarter of last year. Its temporary staffing revenue was $254.1 million, down 1.8% from $258.7 million in the fourth quarter of last year and 1.3% from $257.3 million during the year-ago period, while search revenues were $11.6 million, up 4.1% from $11.1 million in the fourth quarter and 4.9% from $11 million in the first quarter of 2012.
“The challenges to revenue growth continue to be on the supply side, where candidates remain in extremely short supply and typically have multiple opportunities from which to choose. In this regard, we’re expending significant effort to educate our clients in this war for talent, with the intent of accelerating hiring decisions on resources that have been identified,” says David L.
