The U.S. Federal Reserve is expected to reduce its monthly bond-buying program to $55 billion when it meets this month. The decision will be guided by the recent strength in hiring. The Fed also may change how it describes its interest-rate plans.

Indemnification is one of the most heavily negotiated, and potentially most significant, provisions of a purchase agreement, and understanding the terminology common to such agreements is essential when negotiating a deal. The U.S. Federal Reserve may need to increase the pace of the reduction of its monthly bond-buying stimulus program to account for the current economic recovery, according to Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia president Charles Plosser. The U.S. economy grew 1.8% in the first half of 2013, and 3.3% in the second half. At the current pace, the stimulus will end later this year.
