Conference Board News Release (09/08/14)
The Conference Board Employment Trends Index rose in August to 121.29, up from an upwardly revised 120.62 in July. This represents a 6.4% gain in the ETI compared with a year ago.
“The strong increase in the [ETI] in recent months signals robust job growth through the fall,” says Gad Levanon, director of macroeconomic research at the Conference Board. “The disappointing employment numbers for August seem to be a one-month deviation from a stronger trend.”
