AMN Healthcare Services Inc. reported revenues of $264.6 million for the third quarter of 2014, up 2.9% from $257.1 million in the third quarter of 2013. The company reported net income of $8.5 million, down 1.2% from $8.6 million in the year-ago quarter.

Third-quarter revenue totaled $174.3 million for its nurse and allied health care staffing segment, up 1.9% from $171.0 million; $78.8 million for its locum tenens staffing segment, up 4.8% from $75.2 million; and $11.4 million for its physician permanent placement services segment, up 4.6% from $10.9 million.

Business technology services company Compunnel Software Group Inc. of Plainsboro, NJ, has acquired Lyndhurst, NJ-based Challenge Training & Consulting Inc., a learning services, staff augmentation, and consulting company that provides human capital and staffing solutions globally. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
