Ready for Next Week’s Celebration of Staffing Stars?

National Staffing Employee Week, which takes place Sept. 13–19 this year, celebrates the contributions of the millions of individuals employed by U.S. staffing firms. Staffing firms across the nation will host special events honoring their greatest asset: their temporary and contract employees. To help staffing firms with their celebrations, ASA provides free materials for use throughout the week.

Show your appreciation for temporary and contract employees with free promotional tools available at americanstaffing.net/nsew, including commemorative logos, social media post templates, media outreach resources, and more.

And stay tuned for the announcement of the 2022 National Staffing Employee of the Year and industry sector All-Stars. They’ll be revealed to ASA members and the public on the first day of National Staffing Employee Week—Monday, Sept. 13.

Help Clients Understand Their Obligations With the Newly Updated Joint Employment Tool Kit

Are your clients confused about the various laws and rules pertaining to joint employment in third-party staffing arrangements—especially in light of the U.S. Department of Labor’s recent rescission of the Trump-era joint employer legal test? To assist members in addressing client’s questions and concerns regarding joint employment, ASA has updated the ASA Joint Employment Tool Kit.

The tool kit offers a collection of resources to help staffing companies address client concerns about co-employment (the relationship between a staffing firm and its client in which each has legal rights and duties with respect to the same employees), including updated fact sheets, issue papers, and sample letters to clients that dispel myths regarding joint employment and explain how working with a staffing agency can actually protect clients from liability. It’s free to ASA members.

Resources on Diverse-Owned Businesses Available for ASA Members

Staffing companies—particularly small businesses and minority-, veteran-, LGBT-, and woman-owned businesses—find they may be able to partner with larger companies that have supplier diversity initiatives in place.

The ASA inclusion, diversity, and equity advocacy (IDEA) group has developed guidance for ASA members interested in partnering with those companies or in becoming a diverse-owned certified business. The ASA IDEA group is sponsored by ASA corporate partner Monster and by Anthem, along with supporting sponsors TerraFirma and WorkN.

Visit americanstaffing.net/diversity for a directory of diversity certification organizations, a glossary of common terms, and more.
