Free ASA Webinar Next Week—Emergency Temporary Standard on Covid-19 Vaccine and Testing

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has published its Emergency Temporary Standard mandating that workers either be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or produce weekly negative Covid tests. In addition, an interim final rule from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will require full vaccination of many employees at hospitals and other health care facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Legal experts from Seyfarth Shaw LLP will discuss best practices for how staffing firms can comply with the provisions of these regulations during the ASA webinar “Complying With OSHA’s New ETS and Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate.” It takes place Tuesday, Nov. 9, 3–4:30 p.m. Eastern time. Sponsored by ASA corporate partner Essential StaffCARE.

All ASA webinars are free for ASA members, and most qualify for continuing education hours toward ASA certification renewal. To learn more and to register, visit americanstaffing.net.

ASA Offers Vaccine Literacy Resources for Staffing Firms

As part of its continued effort to support staffing firms’ response to Covid-19, ASA has launched a new webpage: Vaccine Literacy Resources for Staffing Firms. The site provides valuable downloads and links employers can use to engage and educate workers about Covid-19 vaccines. ASA partnered with the Health Action Alliance to share these free resources, including a quick-start guide, sample communications, vaccine FAQs, a social media tool kit, and more.

Research shows that businesses and employers are a trusted source of information and are well-suited to advance vaccine literacy efforts. The new ASA site also links to National Safety Council resources, developed by NSC’s “SAFER: Safe Actions for Employee Returns” task force.

Visit the Vaccine Literacy Resources page today and check back regularly for updates—ASA will post new resources as they become available.
