AI in Staffing Week Starts Today

It’s finally here: AI in Staffing Week begins today. For the next five days, ASA members can engage with technology and AI experts on every topic changing the staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry.

Presented by the ASA staffing technology taskforce, AI in Staffing Week will address everything from prompt engineering, ethical considerations, cybersecurity risks, and AI-powered tools in action. Here is what’s happening today and tomorrow:

Aug. 17, 1 p.m. Eastern time
AI is Changing Staffing. People Still Come First.
Presented by Chris Loope, founder and chief technology officer, Pedagogue Systems; Nycole Rosen, founder and chief operating officer, Pedagogue Systems

Every staffing firm is being told to adopt AI, but most of the advice being offered focuses on how–which tools, what sequence, how fast. This session steps back to the harder question of why–and what gets lost when a firm skips it. Drawing on the latest industry and global workforce data, we make the case that the firms winning the AI era are the ones routing the time it gives back toward people, not away from them.

Aug. 18, 2 p.m. Eastern time
Modern AI for Staffing Leaders: From Tools to Teammates
Presented by Dave Albertson, co-founder and chief executive officer, Manage AI; Dan Ray, co-founder and chief customer officer, Manage AI

A grounded framework for adopting AI as a managed workforce. Covers: the management discipline behind AI, the three pillars of AI Workforce Management, low-risk/high-impact use cases, and advising clients on blended human/AI workforces.

DOL’s Office of Disability Employment Policy Will Host a Free Webinar on Aug. 19

The Employer Assistance and Resource Network, an initiative of the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, will host a complimentary webinar on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The webinar will focus on how employers can source talent for IT sector jobs by participating in programs that help workers with disability succeed in the workplace. Speakers will share insights from the IT sector, discuss innovative training and career-entry models, and highlight practical examples of how organizations are creating pathways into high-demand occupations.

ASA and ODEP formed an alliance in 2020 to advance the employment of people with disabilities. Through this partnership, ASA and ODEP collaborate to provide reliable information and resources to help staffing firms create inclusive workplaces for people with disabilities.

Register for this webinar, Aug. 19, 2–3 p.m. Eastern time: “Strengthening the Tech Workforce Through Apprenticeships, Skills-Based Hiring, and Disability Employment.”
