Free Online Course Addresses ASA Members’ Top Worries

ASA recognizes that one of the top issues keeping staffing and recruiting professionals up at night is growing their talent pipeline amid an ongoing talent shortage. Communicating to job seekers in a way that resonates and captures their interests has never been more critical.

The association conducted extensive research to understand the mindset of today’s job seeker and developed the “New Language of Staffing” online course exclusively for staffing professionals with ASA member firms. The course features video modules, online quizzes, and more. It’s part of the “Fundamentals of Recruiting” online course module in the ASA Onboarding Series on ASA Learn. ASA-certified professionals who complete the course earn 0.5 hours of continuing education toward ASA certification renewal.

ASA Offers Resources to Help Firms Increase Disability Inclusion in Staffing

ASA—in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy—has developed a website of tools to help employers make their businesses more inclusive for talent with disabilities. The site includes resources on best practices for recruiting, hiring, retaining, and advancing talent with disabilities; what employers need to know about managing a diverse workforce that includes people with disabilities; and ways employers can promote disability inclusion in their internal and external communications.

It also provides information on commonsense workplace changes that result in more digitally accessible workplaces. This is another initiative in the joint effort between ASA and ODEP, which signed an alliance in May 2020 to advance the employment of people with disabilities in the staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industries.

Visit the Disability Employment Resources for Staffing Firms page at americanstaffing.net/odep.
