Employment Control Inc., a regional provider of commercial temporary staffing services, has acquired STAFFpartners in Nashville, TN. This is ECI’s third transaction in eleven months as the company continues its strategy of organic and acquisitive growth in the mid-South and Southeast. Denise Thomason, president of STAFFpartners, will remain with the company in her current role.

TeamHealth Holdings News Release (01/07/13)
TeamHealth has expanded its New Jersey presence through the acquisition of Northern Valley Anesthesiology PA and its related entities. TeamHealth recently commenced services at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, NJ, as well as five ambulatory surgery centers in northern New Jersey where NVA provides comprehensive anesthesia and pain management services through 33 anesthesiologists.

Georgia Oak Partners has announced an investment in TeamOne Logistics, an Alpharetta, GA-based provider of contract staffing and logistics solutions to companies with transportation or warehousing related functions. Georgia Oak is partnering with TeamOne’s existing management, including founder Jerry Gray, who will continue as president of TeamOne.

Rhode Island paid $13,081,027 in the last budget year to five staffing companies to place workers in state government. J. Michael Downey, president of Rhode Island’s largest public employees’ union, asserts the state is not yet complying with a law that requires “a full, transparent, and simple accounting of how many temporary employees work for the state; what types of jobs they do; and how much they are paid each year.”
