The American Staffing Association will be introducing a new professional certification program in May. The direct hire certification program, specifically designed for search and placement professionals, will focus on federal employment laws specific to recruiters and on state licensing and registration laws applicable to direct hire firms. It will help search consultants enhance their knowledge of labor and employment law as it relates to the recruitment and placement of employees at all levels.

The new ASA certification program is being developed with Mike Rode, Esq., of Reminger Attorneys at Law, former vice president and general counsel of Management Recruiters International Inc.

ASA will release study tools, a practice exam, and the online exam for this certification program at its Staffing Law Conference in Washington, DC, May 7–8.
