ASA Staffing Index: Staffing in June Flat

Staffing employment in June is flat (0.0%) compared with the same month last year, according to the ASA Staffing Index. The index value for the month of June is 93, indicating that staffing employment has experienced little change over the past 30 days (-0.2%).
Orders for U.S. Durable Goods Rose More Than Forecast

Orders for U.S. durable goods rose 3.6% in May, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce. The higher-than-expected increase suggests manufacturing is stabilizing. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast a 3% increase. Excluding the volatile transportation equipment component, orders rose 0.7%, also higher then forecast.
