U.S. employers are experiencing a mismatch between skills available in the workforce and jobs being created, particularly in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields, according to Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank president Charles Plosser. “Sadly, we are not doing an adequate job of preparing our workforce for these jobs,” he says.
