Staffing employment for the week of July 7–13 rose to 97.25, according to the ASA Staffing Index. Temporary and contract staffing employment increased 3.73% from the prior week—a leveling after the Independence Day holiday. This is a 3.88% increase compared with the same week last year. That same week also will be used in the employment situation report for July that will be issued by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Aug. 1.
