ASA Honors Members’ Communications Programs With 2015 ASA Staffing VOICE Awards

ASA has recognized several member staffing firms with 2015 ASA Staffing VOICE Awards, which honor the vision, originality, innovation, creativity, and effectiveness (VOICE) of staffing industry marketing, advertising, multimedia, and public relations campaigns. The winning entries will be displayed at Staffing World, the ASA annual convention and expo, Oct. 27–29 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. The ASA Staffing VOICE Awards competition is sponsored by CareerBuilder.

The awards were judged by a panel of communications experts. Achievements in individual categories were recognized with best of class distinctions, VOICE Awards, and honorable mention distinctions.

The following companies were honored with Best of Class VOICE Awards:

  • Firms With More than $100 Million in Annual Sales: Labor Finders
  • Firms With $25–$100 Million in Annual Sales: Dawson

TRU Staffing Partners Acquires Kennett Group and Expands Cybersecurity Staffing Offering

TRU Staffing Partners, a New York City-based search firm representing talent and opportunities in the legal technology, e-discovery, and litigation support space, has acquired the Kennett Group, based in Kennett Square, PA. TRU will launch a new division, TRU Cyber, which will focus explicitly on cybersecurity staffing and career management.

U.S. Jobless Claims Fall 11,000 to 264,000, Lowest Since Mid-July

The number of people applying for unemployment benefits in the week ended Sept. 12 fell by 11,000 to 264,000, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had forecast claims of 275,000. The four-week average of new claims dropped by 3,250 to a seasonally adjusted 275,000.
