ASA Staffing Law Conference Continues Today

The ASA Staffing Law Conference, a virtual event dedicated to the legal and regulatory issues facing staffing companies during the Covid-19 pandemic, concludes today with sessions on conducting candidate background checks remotely, protecting your firm against client bankruptcy, and preparing for employees to return to their workspaces.

During yesterday’s program, presenters took an in-depth look at the risks associated with remote work arrangements, best practices for managing attorney–client relationships, and the steps to take when considering whether to furlough or lay off employees. Throughout the afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to ask the presenters and ASA attorneys about potential changes to federal and state law, updated resources available from ASA, and other specific questions.

Today’s sessions begin at 12:45 p.m. Eastern time. Get the details at staffinglawconference.net.

Next Week—Network Virtually With Peers in Your Region

As your staffing firm faces new challenges and tries to answer unexpected questions, ASA invites you to attend peer networking calls to discuss top-of-mind challenges and solutions with your industry colleagues in your region. These virtual networking calls will be facilitated by volunteers (participants will not receive official legal updates or guidance regarding Covid-19).

Get the full schedule and register at americanstaffing.net:

  • Connecticut, Indiana, North Carolina, and Texas networks: Tuesday, June 9, 3:30–4:45 p.m. Eastern time
  • Capital Area, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington networks: Wednesday, June 10, 3:30–4:45 p.m. Eastern time

Registration is free for ASA members. Participants will be able to move into smaller discussion groups with members of their ASA State Network council.

Track Staffing Employment in Nearly Real Time

Looking for real-time data on staffing employment? The ASA Staffing Index reports weekly changes in the number of people employed in temporary and contract work. The data, which are not available anywhere else, help your firm evaluate its performance against a national metric on both a weekly and long-term basis.

All staffing firms with U.S. operations are invited to participate in the ASA Staffing Index survey. Every Tuesday, participants receive an email with the results of the weekly survey, including figures by company size, and access to historical data and new dynamic charts.

Sign up today—there are no fees to participate in the five-question survey.
