Report: Women’s Representation in Staffing Leadership Grew in 2022

The percentage of women who serve as chief executive officers and owners in the staffing industry more than doubled from 2020 to 2022, according to a new survey released by the Women Business Collaborative with support from ASA, National Association of Personnel Services, Staffing Industry Analysts, and TechServe Alliance. The percentage of female CEOs and owners in the staffing industry reached 42% in 2022, up from less than 20% in 2020.

“Women’s voices continue to grow in the staffing industry, but we still have work to do to reach full gender parity,” said ASA chair Threase Baker.

ASA Issue Paper: WARN Act Obligations for Staffing Agencies

As facility closures and workforce restructurings become more prevalent, employers must be mindful of several considerations when planning and implementing layoffs. Among those considerations is the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, as well as its various state counterparts.

If the WARN Act is triggered, WARN notices must be provided to affected employees, any applicable union, and various government entities within 60 days of the employees’ termination. A new ASA issue paper, written by Isaac J. Burker, Esq., of Jackson Lewis PC, examines when WARN Act notifications are required and provides tips for staffing agencies to stay in compliance.
